My Effective Time Management Strategies

My Effective Time Management Strategies

Earlier this year, I had issues with time. I would wake up with thoughts of things I need to do for the day. In the end, I would not be able to complete half of my tasks for that day. Time seemed to have moved by so fast that I would be wondering where it had gone. One minute, I have all the time in the world, and the next, I would feel that if I got 48 hours a day, it would still not be enough.

As a mom with four kids wishing to learn technical skills, time is important. I knew it was time to plan myself well so that I could maintain a good work-life balance.

Do you also struggle with this way too? Join me as I walk you through my time management strategies. I took a class on time management strategies and how to tackle my challenges with a growth mindset. These strategies include:

  • I make a list of what I need to do every day not thinking about them but putting them down.

  • I Make use of a calendar planner and outline how I intend to do those things.

  • I planned my to-do list according to the time I had for each of them and ensured that I arranged each item to suit the other. If I need to be at some part of the town, I will arrange all the other things I need to do there to fit into that plan.

  • I avoid distractions at all costs; such as going to social media or even pressing my phone when I have things to do. I check messages though but with strict adherence.

  • I also ensure that relax at intervals. Giving myself time to nap every day helps me to relax better and be more active.

  • When I set a target for myself, I set a reward so that once I reach my target I will take my reward. This strategy allows me to have something to look forward to while I work. The reward could be anything. For instance, watching a movie, reading a good book, taking a walk, or even treating myself to a good meal or snacks. It does not matter what the reward is so long as I am looking forward to it.

These strategies that I have mastered, have ensured that at any time;

  • I am either busy doing something or relaxing from a job well done.

  • I am healthy and have a stable mental health.

  • I do not waste my time and only wonder where all the time has gone at the end of the day.

  • I no longer feel that 24 hours a day is not enough, because I can now plan myself better.

Looking at my results so far, I am proud of myself. These strategies work very well for me. Do let me know in the comment box what strategies you were using and what works for you. I find myself engaged in meaningful activities or relishing moments of well-deserved rest.

  • Good physical and mental well-being: a testament to the effectiveness of my routines.

  • I no longer lament the fleeting hours, for I've mastered the art of planning, and I make good use of every moment.

  • The notion of 24 hours being inadequate has dissipated; I've learned to optimize my time.

Reflecting on my progress, I take immense pride in my achievements. These strategies are my guiding light, steering me through life's demands with finesse.
